Best of 2023

2023 was a great year for shows. The Bear, Succession, Abbott Elementary. These are some of my favorite shows from the year. They range from Prime Video, Netflix, even Peacock. I haven’t watched all these shows so it wouldn’t be right to watch them based on my opinion. Each show is arranged by IMDb and Rotten Tomatoes, also by reviews on the internet. These are the most popular shows of 2023.

#10 I’m a Virgo

#5 Barry
Rating: 8.4/10, 98%
Max

Barry (Apple TV)

“Disillusioned at the thought of taking down another “mark,” depressed, low-level hit man Barry Berkman seeks a way out. When the Midwesterner reluctantly travels to Los Angeles to execute a hit on an actor who is bedding a mobster’s wife, little does Barry know that the City of Angels may be his sanctuary. He follows his target into acting class and ends up instantly drawn to the community of eager hopefuls, especially dedicated student Sally, who becomes the object of his affection. While Barry wants to start a new life as an actor, his handler, Fuches, has other ideas, and the hit man’s criminal past won’t let him walk away so easily.” Apple Tv

#4 The Last of Us
Rating: 8.8/10, 96%
Service: Max

The Last of Us (Verge)

“Based on the video game franchise developed by Naughty Dog, the series is set in a post-apocalyptic 2023, The Last of Us presents a world that’s been ravaged by a pandemic caused by a fungus called “cordyceps” (terrifyingly, a real fungus), which turns its hosts into violent zombie-like creatures whose only goal is to spread the infection. The story follows Joel, a smuggler, and Ellie, a feisty teenager who is immune, as they travel across the country to a militant group of revolutionaries called the Fireflies who hope to synthesize a vaccine.” The Verge

#3 Reservation Dogs
Rating: 8.2/10, 99%
Service: Hulu

Reservation Dogs (Rough Cut)

“Following the exploits of four Indigenous teenagers in rural Oklahoma who steal, rob and save in order to get to the exotic, mysterious and faraway land of California. To succeed, they will have to save enough money, outmaneuver the meth heads at the junkyard on the edge of town and survive a turf war against a much tougher rival gang. This first-of-its-kind creative team tells a story that resonates with them and their lived experiences — and invites audiences into a surprisingly familiar and funny world.” The Rough Cut.

#2 The Bear
Rating: 8.6/10 99%
Service: Hulu

The Bear
