As the wrestling season came to an end, the Bruins fought hard to earn their standing. This season, seniors Frantz Byron and Nahkin Stevens earned 100 career wins. These boys worked through tough matches and ongoing practices in order to receive this recognition. Senior Jayden Young had an outstanding performance this season. These three boys were able to make their way to state qualifiers. Although they did not continue on to states, Stevens ended up coming in 4th place and Byron placed 6th.

Nearing the end of the season, the team placed 2nd at the county qualifiers with six wrestlers making All Conference. These wrestlers are seniors Nahkin Stevens, Frantz Byron, Mitchell Carter, Brandon Phang, and Jayden Young; juniors Dayvien Devargas, Elian Nunez, Sam Gutierres, Adam Hilburger, Kalyan Paradon, and Zajin Ramirez; sophomores, Darwin Bran, Javoni Morgan, Yaseen Khan, Yael Marmol; and freshman Jamaal McCoy. Coach Horton couldn’t be more proud of their outcome.
The following wrestlers made it to the county tournament: seniors Nahkin Stevens, Frantz Byron, Jayden Young, Mitchell Carter and Brandon Phang; juniors Adam Hilburger, Elian Nunez, Klyan Paradon; and sophomore Yael Marmol. While the coaches didn’t believe that this number of boys would make it so far, they are glad they were wrong. Senior Mitchell Carter , going 3-2, had an overall outstanding performance. He and the other seniors will surely be missed, but their influence will carry on and fans are looking forward to next season and more stellar performances.
